Sinclair Community College
Sinclair Community College is a comprehensive institution of higher education that continues to offer quality education at the lowest cost in Ohio. Sinclair's main campus is adjacent to Interstate 75, at the Third Street exit, on the western edge of downtown Dayton. The 60-acre campus is a delightful blend of modern architecture and green space. Traversing the compact campus is easy thanks to underground corridors and enclosed walkways which connect most buildings. Parking is plentiful, well lighted and secure. Serving more than 50,000 students annually, Sinclair's university parallel courses are designed to transfer to four-year baccalaureate programs. Sinclair students can earn the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Individualized Studies and Associate of Technical Studies degrees. In addition to a variety of one-year and short-term certificate programs, Sinclair offers degree related programs including Cooperative Education, Credit for Lifelong Learning, or continuing education at other colleges in SOCHE - the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education - for Sinclair credit. Sinclair's Corporate and Community Services Division is headquartered in the 200,000 square-foot David H. Ponitz Sinclair Center. The Center's state-of-the-art facilities can handle training, meetings, video teleconferencing and dining needs for small to large groups. Sinclair is one of only 20 member colleges of the prestigious League for Innovation in the Community College and a Vanguard Learning College. The Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium, based at Sinclair, has been named "Best in Nation" by the U.S. Department of Education and the American Association of Community Colleges. The Automotive Technology program, with close ties to General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Ford and Honda, has twice been a winner of the American Vocational Association/American Automobile Manufacturer's Association Industry Planning Council's Award for Excellence in Automotive Service Programs. Recently, Sinclair has opened Learning Centers attached to YMCA's in Englewood and Huber Heights. In the fall of 2007, the college opened a new campus on Courseview Drive in Mason, across I-71 from Kings Island in Warren County.
