The State of Ohio has undertaken creative, bold approaches to continue building the world-class system of higher education called for in Ohio's 10-Year Strategic Plan for Higher Education that is student-focused and will make higher education a principal driver of Ohio’s economic growth and prosperity in the 21st century. From new scholarship programs – to early college credit programs – to the promise of providing associate and bachelor’s degrees at facilities within 30 miles of anywhere an Ohioan lives or works – there are a menu of new and exciting high-quality, low-cost options and strategies to make it easier for all Ohioans to attain college degrees.
The 30-Mile Promise ensures high-quality, low-cost associate and bachelor's degrees within 30 miles of every Ohioan. Community colleges and universities will team up to offer joint packages of associate and bachelor's degrees.
The Ohio GI Promise allows all eligible veterans of the U.S. Armed Services, their spouses, and dependents who choose to attend Ohio colleges and universities to do so at in-state tuition rates.
Seniors to Sophomores is a dual enrollment program that enables academically qualified high school seniors to earn both high school and college credit at the same time.
The Ohio Skills Bank links industry demand to workforce supply in the state's 12 economic development regions in order to create the workforce called for by business and industry.
The Chancellor is motivated to help reduce the overall cost of college, by using innovative programs and working with bookstores to make textbooks more affordable.
The Innovation Partnership is intended to increase the role of higher education in building Ohio's talent and research pipelines. The Partnership includes two programs: Choose Ohio First Scholarship and Ohio Research Scholars.
The public was invited to attend a series of Community Conversations hosted by Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor Eric D. Fingerhut during April, May and June, to discuss the 10-Year Strategic Plan for Higher Education.
The System is first in the U.S. to adopt the partner with i-graduate to adopt the International Student Barometer. This international student satisfaction survey will measure and compare Ohio campuses to schools around the world.
The Ohio College Portrait is a compilation of reports created by the Voluntary System of Accountability that evaluates Ohio's public colleges and universities and compares them to schools across the nation.
